Here began the history of the Krupps family's industrial dynasty in Essen. The original Krupp factory building, which was built in 1818, was later the residence of the industrialist family. After being destroyed in the war, it was reconstructed true to the original in 1961. Today it houses a small number of exhibits about the company and the Krupp family and can be visited on guided tours.
