Five weeks of stalls and glittering lights are already behind us. No need to be sad, because the next International Christmas Market is already in preparation. From 15 November to 23 December 2024, you can once again look forward to magical Christmas moments in Essen's city centre. It's going to be a festival!

Sustainable Christmas Market

In the spirit of the "European Green Capital 2017", sustainability plays a major role at the International Christmas Market.

Only "green electricity" will be used.
All caterers will dispense with disposable plastic tableware for consumption on site.
There is a deposit system for cups and glasses.
There is an absolute ban on plastic bags.
The organisers attach importance to regional, fair trade and organic products as well as a good ecological balance when choosing traders.
