The Hundertwasser House in Grugapark

A "Hundertwasser" for children with serious illnesses In the immediate vicinity of the University Hospital on the edge of Gruga park, an unusual, brightly-coloured house that appears to come from another world has been created. The Ronald McDonald Hundertwasser House. The Ronald McDonald House Essen is a temporary home for the families of children with serious illnesses who are being treated in Essen University Hospital.

Guided tours:
regular guided tours are offered free of charge for groups of up to 30 people. The tours take about an hour and are offered at various times on different days. A firm telephone booking is required on +49 (0) 201 439990.

Kindergartens, schools, groups with disabled people (e.g. blind people or people in wheelchairs) can register, as can those with special interests (architecture, social work). Those with specific areas of interest can be accommodated. There is also a Hundertwasser shop in the foyer of the Ronald McDonald House, which is open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (if not occupied, press the "Office/Büro" bell).
