The city route covers a distance of around 18 kilometres from the Rhein-Herne-Kanal in the northern part of Essen to Baldeneysee in the southern part of Essen and goes past lots of sights for which Essen is famous beyond its city boundaries, including the Essener Dom, Museum Folkwang and Villa Hügel.
