#13 m8saik | Video Mapping

mammasONica, Italy

Last year they inspired us with their mapping work "The Green Busters", and this year the Italian artist duo mammasONica is presenting the results of a workshop on light art, which they held with 15 art students from the bischöfliches Gymnasium am Stoppenberg. During these five intensive days, they worked out together how site-specific art can be created through inspiration and creativity as well as know-how and the latest technology. mammasONica's approach is to be inspired above all by the surroundings and to let the "genius loci", the special features of a place, speak through art. We can be excited. See for yourself at this year's premiere of the video mapping "m8saik".

mammasONica

mammasONica is an Italian multidisciplinary creative studio with transmedial ambitions. The range of their work moves between A/V performances, lighting design, interactive installations and new media theatre. Parliament in Strasbourg, the Weimar Atrium, the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, the Roman-Germanic Museum in Cologne and Lancaster Castle in Lancashire.

They have received several international prizes for their art and are regarded by (university) experts as a showcase for the use of light in special locations.

In addition to their artistic work, mammasONica is actively involved in international educational projects, including how to use new technology. In doing so, they aim to strengthen community and improve cultural interaction between all ages.
